HISTORY OF KOVILOOR MADALAYAM
Sri Kasiviswanatha Gnana desikar succeeded him on the 16th of October 1986. He brought all the mutts under the control of the Koviloor mutt and ordered the respective mutts to maintain their accounts after regularising them. He conducted a meeting of 'Thinkers Forum' every month; got the damaged temple cars repaired. He made the mutt run classes on Vedanta and render social service; provided education, food, clothes and medical aid to the poor.
He was deeply attached to 'Thirumandiram', 'Siddhar Padal' and preached Kandan's Thirumandiram to all. He had an un detachable devotion to Ambal and always recited Her 'Nama' as 'Devi'. He blessed all with affection by smearing the holy ash (vibuthi) on the forehead. He published children's books such as 'Thambippappa', 'Padithuparu', in order to inculcate spirituality among children.
