HISTORY OF KOVILOOR MADALAYAM
Sri la Sri Annamalai Gnana Desikar of Devakottai became the sixth head of the mutt and completed the divine works left by Thirukkalar Andavar. He raised a temple over the dome of Narasimha Bharathi Swamigal, at Sringeri. While he was residing in Benaras, both of them had close spiritual connections. He arranged for the consecration of Sri Saradhadevi at Sringeri. Krishna Rajendiran, the maharaja of Mysore took him to his palace and honoured him.
