Sri la Sri Arunachala Gnanadesikar ruled as the second head of the mutt. He looked after the administration of the mutt and handed over charge after one and a half years to his younger brother, Sri la Sri Chidambara Gnanadesikar alias Karunanidhi Swamigal.
