He completed the spiritual works left behind by Srimath  Andavar, in an effective manner by performing consecration for the Madurai Chockkanathar  Meenakshi  Amman Temple, and constructing  a  tank with  central  dome,  at Koviloor.  He published  books  such  as 'Brahmma Namavali' and 'Guru Sthuthi Gugamanjali'.  He made  the mutt  prosperous by acquiring paddy-fields and a large number  of coconut  trees.   The famous Yazhpanam  Arumuga  Navalar  studied Vedantam under him.  He also constructed a very big marriage hall at koviloor, to enable the Naganathar of 96 places in  chettinad, to hold their meetings here.
